The latest Manchester United news, views and rumours.

Marcus Rashford

Manchester United Under-18s striker Marcus Rashford has 'made great strides' this season, according to coach Paul McGuinness.

Could a call-up to the first team be in store some point down the line for the 17-year-old?

"Marcus has made big strides recently," McGuinness told Manchester United's official website. "I think all of them in this age group are maturing physically and mentally and I can see that in front of my own eyes. From the start of the season to now, he’s made big strides.

"Quite a few players have but Marcus was one of those we were talking about. Last year, he played as a schoolboy up at Newcastle and we said afterwards: ‘You just didn’t know how hard it is to play at this level and play professional football, and how much you have to give yourself physically.'"

Diego Godin

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has laughed off Man United's reported interest in defender Diego Godin.

"Let's talk about something else," he told reporters. "How much? Twenty? For Godin? It must be a mistake."
