Loic Remy struck an impressive goal for Chelsea against Tottenham, prompting more debate as to why Liverpool chose to pass on him this summer.
The Reds agreed an £8 million fee to sign him from QPR, but pulled out of the deal at the last minute, with rumours of a failed medical circulating.
The Frenchman did not let that setback prevent him from clinching a big move, and is surely thanking his luck stars he landed up at Chelsea instead.
He is part of a side which look destined to clinch a Premier League title already, and have a great chance of going far in the Champions League. While back-up for Diego Costa, the Spaniard's injury-prone nature means he will get his opportunities as the season progresses, and he did his chances no harm against Spurs.
It was second Premier League goal in 165 minutes of football, which compares favourably to Mario Balotelli who Liverpool signed instead, who has failed miserably.
The controversial Italian hasn't netted in 625 minutes of Premier League action, and is so far looking like a panic buy, at double Remy's price.
Liverpool's failure to sign Remy may be proven right in the future if he were to suffer fitness problems which they reportedly believed him to have, but while he is fit and firing, he appears like an excellently valued striker who they mistakenly passed on.
Here's a look at how fans of the Reds reacted to his goal last night...
I still can't believe that we never got Loic Remy, it's piss poor from #LFC to lie about him failing a medical!— Timmy Robson (@WaveyTimz277) December 3, 2014
Remy again leaving #LFC red faced. Should have been all over that deal.— John Cawley (@john_cawley) December 3, 2014

Remy wasn't the answer either btw but he fits the profile/style of striker we should have pursued relentlessly. #LFC— Hari Sethi (@Hari_Sethi) December 3, 2014
