Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn has been singing the praises of star striker Mirco Antenucci.
The Italian has been one of the best players for the Whites so far this season, scoring seven goals and creating 13 chances in 16 Championship games.
Signed from Italian cub Ternana in the summer transfer window, the 30-year-old has taken to the Championship like a duck to water.
Last weekend Antenucci scored both goals in Leeds’s 2-0 home win against leaders Derby County, and Redfern has now underlined his quality.
NR on Antenucci: “He’s got better & better. He’s got so much going for him, his touch & awareness around the box is unbelievable.” #lufc— Leeds United FC (@LUFC) December 4, 2014
Next up for Leeds is a clash against Ipswich Town away from home on Saturday. Redfearn has said that he could make changes, but only because of injuries.
Redfearn says there “might be a couple of changes” at Ipswich due to injuries but hopes to keep a “settled side together”. #lufc— Leeds United FC (@LUFC) December 4, 2014
Winning against second-placed Ipswich will not be easy for Leeds, but then again, not many gave the West Yorkshire outfit a chance of defeating Derby.
Leeds do not have a great away record, but success over league leaders and arguably the Championship’s strongest team Derby will certainly have enhanced their confidence.
If Redfearn is able to field the exact team that started against Derby, then they will have a good chance of picking up all three points in Ipswich.
