Versatile midfielder Selcuk Inan has been linked with a Merseyside move in January and showcased another of his talents in the Turkish Cup this week.
Everton fans were treated to a brief glimpse of what they could expect from rumoured January transfer target Selcuk Inan after the Galatasaray midfielder fired home a memorable goal for the Istanbul club in the Turkish Cup.
The 29-year-old has been linked to the Toffees in recent months is capable of playing anywhere across the midfield, as well as in the much-heralded trequartista role behind the main striker if required, making him something approaching hot-property for those clubs scouting for reinforcements in Europe this January.
Inan is also something of a dead-ball specialist and showcased his pinpoint shooting ability from free-kicks during Gala’s 4-2 victory over Eskisehirspor.
The Istanbul giants endured something of a scare at the Turk Telecom Arena, going behind early on to the visitors, with Goran Pandev subsequently missing a penalty for the hosts, before Inan levelled things up with a superb free-kick.
He was on target once again before half-time to put Galatasaray 2-1 up at the break and on their way to a much-needed win.
Valued at around £7 million, the former Trabzonspor favourite would be a welcome addition to the Premier League on the basis of this fine strike alone but Everton could yet face competition for the Turkish star.
Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has also reportedly identified Inan as a key January transfer target and the Nerazzurri go in search of a top three finish in Serie A.
And with the Italian previously working alongside the 29-year-old at Gala, Everton may have to up the ante if they want to secure the utility star.
