Arsenal have been linked with moves for several top players over the past week.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be pleased with the way his side are stringing together difficult wins as he keeps one eye on the transfer market ahead of the January window.

Wenger has never been one for spending big in the middle of a season but there are areas of his squad, which could use extra players.

Here are five of the best players linked with Arsenal moves from the past week.

Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint-Germain)

Reports this morning have linked Arsenal with a move for PSG forward Cavani. They have been consistently mentioned in terms of potential clubs for the Uruguayan although they’d face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United.

Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

The Frenchman certainly fits the bill in terms of holding players Arsenal could target. It would also be a hammer blow to Spurs if they managed to sign him considering their repeated attempts to buy him last summer. A potential £15 million opening price has been mentioned.

Petr Cech (Chelsea)

If Cech wants to stay in the Premier League then Arsenal are a possible destination. However, stories suggest that Roma are ready to make the first move, which could force Wenger into a big winter decision, which he won’t want to make hastily.

Lucas Silva (Cruzeiro)

Arsenal are still being mentioned in reports surrounding the 21-year-old and they could still make a play for him. However, he’s made it clear that he sees Real Madrid as his ideal destination in the future.

Paulo Dybala (Palermo)

Some of Wenger’s best transfers at Arsenal have been for young, dynamic and quick attacking players. Dybala certainly falls into that category although his reported price tag of €40 million could put the club off.
