Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has given an injury update on Holland midfielder Daley Blind.

The midfielder is one of a number of players currently out injured but in quotes published by the Guardian, the United boss revealed he should be back for the festive period.

“Not next week, I don’t know,” he said. “Christmas maybe…maybe Christmas.

“At the end of December maybe we will see light at the end of the tunnel.”

In other news, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has been speaking once more about his failed move to United.

In an interview with El Enganche later published by Goal.com, the former Barcelona star said, “I was almost on my way to Manchester United and only the details needed to be put onto that deal.

“But in the last minute (Sandro) Rosell called me to tell me they would win the election. That made everything happen fast.”

United ended up signing Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest is history.

And finally, Roy Keane has told Fourfourtwo that he would happily bury the hatchet with Sir Alex Ferguson if the ex-United boss apologised to him.

“For Ferguson to bad-mouth me after I left, I think he does owe me an apology,” Keane said.
