Swansea fans took to Twitter on Tuesday night to react to Ki Sung-Yueng's display in the 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.

Swansea City fans were hailing midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng on Tuesday night after the South Korean’s goal-scoring performance in the 2-0 home win over Queens Park Rangers.

The Swans were left frustrated for most of the match, as goalkeeper Rob Green produced a string of fine saves from Gylfi Sigurdsson, Wilfried Bony and Kyle Bartley to keep the game deadlocked into the final 15 minutes.

It was Ki who came up with the opener in the 78th-minute, however, with a curling shot into the corner of the net to finally beat the QPR shot-stopper, before Wayne Routledge sealed the result against his former club five minutes later.

The win moved Garry Monk’s side up to sixth in the Premier League table, with 22 points from 14 games, and Ki ranked the performance among their best of the season so far.

“Today’s game was massive for us and it was one of our best performances as a team,” he told the club’s official website.

“We were disappointed after the Crystal Palace result as we had played very well but couldn’t get the win, but today we played very well – both individually and as a team – and got the result we wanted.

“Scoring a goal is always a great feeling. I had two options – cross or shoot. It was a little in-between,” he continued.

“When I go forward I get chances. Today, with Leon [Britton] sitting brilliantly in front of the back four, I got forward more.

“So it was great for me to score my first goal at the Liberty. It was perfect for me – in front of our fans at home in a crucial game.”

Those fans were certainly pleased with the former Celtic star’s display on the night, with Twitter full of praise for his impact.
