Last night saw Liverpool claim an important 3-1 win away to Leicester City with Steven Gerrard also putting in a timely much improved performance.
But it was not a game to remember once again for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
After stuffing up a pass which ended up with Esteban Cambiasso missing an open goal he clumsily half claimed control of a situation which then ended up with the ball ricocheting off the post, into the back of the net, off the back of the Belgian's head.
The £9 million arrival from Sunderland last summer took the place of Pepe Reina at Anfield and has done very little to convince the fans he is worthy of filling those gloves since he made the switch.
Recently his haplessness has been clear and with that in mind many a Liverpool fan is ready to see the back of him and hope for a new goalkeeper to arrive in January. One of the players reportedly on the wish-list is Fiorentina stopper Neto.
The Brazilian has been in good form for La Viola and is the type of goalkeeper Liverpool are looking for. Now it is being reported however that his current club are ready to commit him to a new deal on Italy.
It is reported that Liverpool are prepared to take his salary up to €1.9 million in the summer with a move to Anfield.
Fiorentina, who are also fending off the apparent interest of AS Roma, have therefore moved into ensure he remains at the club by offering him this new deal, according to local radio.
While no financials of the deal have been released it will soon become clear if Neto plans on staying, or whether Liverpool have a shot at signing the goalkeeper.
