PHOTOS: The story of the game as West Ham beat West Brom 2-1

West Brom - The Hawthorns

West Ham made it two wins in a row with a 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

West Ham followed up Saturday's 1-0 win over Newcastle United with a 2-1 triumph over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Alex Song, Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia were all missing from the starting XI, and whilst Valencia did come on just past the hour mark, manager Sam Allardyce once again had to put together an unfamiliar line-up - but the players took their chance with a come-from-behind win.

Here are some of the best images to tell the story of the game...

West Ham's win didn't start off in the best of manners, as West Brom went into the lead after just 10 minutes, with defender Craig Dawson heading the ball home from close range.

However, Allardyce's men showed their character, and were left to celebrate just 25 minutes later after Kevin Nolan marked his return to the starting line-up with the equalising goal.

And on the stroke of half time, West Ham went in front, with centre back James Tomkins turning the ball home from inside the box, heading home a Stewart Downing corner.

One of the star players for West Ham was Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate. The midfield powerhouse was dominant in the middle of the park, proving why Allardyce has compared him to former Arsenal star Patrick Vieira.

Yet the man of the match - according to West Ham fans, at least - was goalkeeper Adrian. The Spaniard made a number of saves to keep West Brom at bay, continuing his great season so far.
