Newcastle fans on twitter were not exactly complimentary about their defender's performance at Turf Moor.
George Boyd opened the scoring for the home side just after the half-hour mark only for it to be cancelled out by Pappiss Cisse just after the interval.
It seems as though a few fans of the Magpies were less than impressed with Mike Williamson, the central defender who seems to be getting quite a bit of game time lately - in part because of injuries suffered by central defenders at the club.
After an impressive run that saw Newcastle climb towards touching distance of the Champions League places, a defeat and a draw has followed for Alan Pardew's injury-hit squad.
Some fans blamed Williamson for the circumstances in which Burnley's goal came about as they failed to deal with a direct ball.
Here is what a few fans had to say:
Williamson is hopelessly out of his depth. Not his fault. S Taylor and Dummet can both kick a ball. Taylor 3rd choice. Dummet 2nd #nufc— TOTS Weekly NUFC Pod (@TOTSPOD) December 3, 2014
What a shockingly woeful performance yesterday mind. First half was as bad as I've seen us play. Williamson had an absolute mare. #nufc— Chris Long (@nufc_chris) December 3, 2014
Saying that I could have caused Williamson problems last night! Absolute garbage #NUFC— Twiggy (@jj_twiggy) December 3, 2014
Is it coincidence that when Tiote, Gouffran and Williamson return to the starting line up, we starting playing garbage again? #nufc— NUFC Stats (@NUFC_Stats) December 2, 2014
How is a half-fit Mike Williamson starting over Steven Taylor? How? #NUFC— Ben (@BonjourMonAmiNE) December 2, 2014
