Five potential replacements for under-fire Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet

Simon Mignolet

A Mexican, Spaniard, Bosnian, Argentine and a Brazilian make up the list.

It would certainly appear that time and patience might be running out on Merseyside for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet at Liverpool.

The Belgian has made a few costly mistakes in recent games and it would certainly appear that confidence in his ability and his own confidence is truly at an all-time low.

With that in mind Liverpool are said to be considering a change in the department come January.

So who could make the move?

Here are five potential options for Brendan Rodgers to consider...

Guillermo Ochoa

One of the many goalkeepers who starred at this summer's World Cup in Brazil. The Mexican moved on a free transfer to Malaga from Ajaccio as a consequence.

But he has been unable to remove Carlos Kameni from the number one spot at the club and now Liverpool might be able to offer him a chance of regular first-team football.

Victor Valdes

The free agent has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months.

Currently recovering from a serious knee injury at arch-rivals Manchester United, Valdes would be a great acquisition for the club. If his knee ever fully heals.

Asmir Begovic

A slight curveball. Not necessarily your sweeper keeper type but nonetheless a top shot-stopper and a real beast at claiming crosses.

Neto

The Fiorentina man is reportedly their current number one target. The talented Brazilian is perhaps the type of goalkeeper Liverpool need and would not be too costly.

Sergio Romero

The Argentine star had a great World Cup. However he is unhappy at Sampdoria and his contract expires in the summer. A cost effective proven stopper who might just be their perfect option.
