Everton captain Leighton Baines believes Kevin Mirallas is the top finisher at the club.
The Belgian international is set to be offered a new contract at Goodison Park, according to Roberto Martinez, and Baines is clearly happy with the decision.
The England international says Mirallas would be his first-choice in a crucial one-on-one situation because of his reliability in-front of goal.
"He’s one of the best finishers at the club," Baines told the Liverpool Echo. "If you are going to put someone in on goal in an important moment, Kevin would probably be at the top of the list because he’s composed.
"He’s always capable of popping up with goals and he scored a great one at the weekend."
Mirallas missed part of this season with injury but has wasted no time getting up to speed since his return .
The 27-year-old scored a wonderful goal against Wolfsburg last week and backed it up with a stunning strike against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
It showed how important he can be to Everton, due to his ability to create something out of nothing, and Martinez has recognised this quality by offering him a new deal.
Although Mirallas still has a considerable amount of time remaining on his contract, the club are keen to limit the speculation about his future and want him to commit to the Merseyside outfit. He is a big part of the club's future plans, as they look to break into the Champions League.
Martinez's side host Hull City tonight and they will be determined to pick up three points to get themselves back on track after defeat to Spurs on Sunday.
