Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo has been speaking following his first goal for England’s under-17 side.
The teenager got his first experience of international football as the Three Lions’ took part in the Nike International Tournament, making his debut against Brazil.
But better was to come when the 16-year-old scored his first goal for his country in a 2-1 victory against Australia.
Chelsea have a number of young players coming through, with the likes of Dominic Solanke and Izzy Brown generating considerable buzz among the fans. But Ugbo could be another to one day break into Jose Mourinho’s first-team
For now he is focusing on international matters and in an interview with the FA’s official website, Ugbo said, “I’m buzzing, and hopefully I can go on to make more appearances and score more goals.
“It was my best feeling that I’ve had so far as it was my first goal.”
Ugbo has featured once for Chelsea’s under-21 side this season and he also appeared as a late substitute in their UEFA Youth League match against Maribor.
