Chelsea midfielder Oscar believes that Tottenham Hotspur are going to change their playing style for tonight’s Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.
Spurs have played a high-pressing game of late, a strategy that has seen them pick up three wins in a row in all competitions.
Tottenham’s style saw them get the better of Everton 2-1 at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday, and many would suspect manager Mauricio Pochettino to maintain his tactic against the Blues.
However, Oscar claims that Tottenham are likely to change their game as their attacking style would suit Chelsea.
“We want to win the game and strengthen our position at the top of the table,” he told Chelsea’s official website.
“Tottenham are an attacking side but that doesn’t mean they will play that way against us because we are very strong at home. We don’t know how they will set their team up, but it suits us if they try to attack.”
Player-for-player Chelsea are the better side and will be favourites to win tonight. The Blues are as ‘complete’ as a team as one would find in the Premier League.
Playing at home will give Jose Mourinho’s side an advantage, and Tottenham need to make sure that they are defensively strong.
Despite the absence of the suspended star striker Diego Costa, the 2012 Champions League winners are lethal in attack and have players to cope with opposition’s moves when they are under pressure at the other end.
