Earlier this week it was reported that Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United were all keen on a move for Santos attacker Gabriel Barbosa. Dubbed the 'new Messi' by many in the know the Premier League trio were linked with the player by the Express.
They reported that Gabriel, nicknamed 'Gabigol', was 'ready to consider his options' and that Chelsea, Arsenal and United were ready to 'pay through the odds' to snap him up, with Barcelona also keen on the talented 18-year-old.
They reported some figures as well. The report stated Chelsea, Arsenal or United could have him for his £40 million buy-out, with Santos willing to sell at £24 million because his contract expires in 18 months time. All of this whipped up a frenzy among supporters, hoping to see Gabriel at their respective club.
But the media in Brazil have been rather perplexed about the reports from England.
A report in Esportes has made it clear that if any of this trio want Gabriel, then the most recent reports are not accurate.
They cast doubt over his release clause, suggesting it might be £10 million more than reported.
That one seems to be up for debate. It looks like it may have been lost in translation, and conversion.
But the fact he doesn't have 18 months on his deal is not up for debate. He signed a new deal in September keeping him at Santos until 2019, so he won't be sold on the cheap.
