West Ham United co-chairman David Gold believes that Alex Song will return to action next weekend.
The Cameroon international midfielder has been sidelined for almost a month, having last featured in a competitive match for the Hammers back on November 8.
Song is going to miss tonight’s clash between West Ham and West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns, but Gold expects the 27-year-old to regain full fitness for Sunday’s match against Swansea City at the Boleyn Ground.
Song joined West Ham from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window and has been a key player for Sam Allardyce’s side so far this campaign.
In eight Premier League appearances, the former Arsenal star has created nine chances, has won 46% of his duels, and has a pass accuracy of 80%.
West Ham are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 21 points from 13 matches, just a point behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
