Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has backed West Ham United to pick up all three points from the Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion tonight.
West Ham returned to winning ways at the weekend when they edged past Newcastle United at home, and Merson predicts them to emerge victorious today as well.
“I thought West Ham played well at Everton and lost, then they weren’t so good on Saturday but they won, which is a good tonic sometimes, not playing well and winning,” he wrote on Skysports.com.
“West Brom have gone, for me. They’re really struggling and need to win a game very quickly, but I’m for West Ham to take the win here.”
Although many football followers will agree with Merson’s prediction, this is a tough game to call. West Brom are the underdogs, but playing at home and with relegation worries hovering above them, they will not be easy pushovers.
Perhaps a win is out of West Brom’s reach, but they can certainly pick up a point against Sam Allardyce’s team.
