Paul Merson explains why Liverpool will drop points v Leicester City

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson predicts tonight’s Premier League clash between Leicester City and Liverpool to end in a draw.

Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson believes that Liverpool will fail to win against Leicester City tonight.

The Reds are the away team for tonight’s Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium, but they will still be many football followers’ favourites to win.

However, Merson reckons that Liverpool will only be able to get a draw.

“Liverpool haven’t been great – they’ve been on a bit of a bad run recently,” he wrote on Skysports.com. “I thought they were quite lucky against Stoke because they didn’t do too much, especially in the first half.

“With Leicester, when you have that many efforts you need to be scoring goals, but I reckon they’ll get a draw against Liverpool.”

Merson’s prediction will not go down well with the Liverpool fans, who will expect their side to win tonight.

Despite the Reds’ well-documented problems, they should be confident of getting the better of a Leicester team who are currently at the foot of the table.

It will not be easy for Liverpool, who are still struggling with injuries, but one suspects that Brendan Rodgers’s side will eventually come away with the points and relaunch their challenge for the top four.
