Former Leeds hero Gary Kelly has revealed Celtic are the only club who could have tempted him away.
Former Leeds United full-back Gary Kelly says that there is only one club who could have tempted him away from the club.
Kelly made 531 appearances for Leeds before retiring in 2007, and is their eighth most capped player of all time.
The defender appeared on Sky Sports Fantasy Football Club at the weekend, and was asked if leaving Leeds ever crossed his mind.
He responded that there were no firm offers ever put to him, but if there was one club he would have liked to experience in addition to Leeds, he was in no doubt.
He said: "Yeah, any young Irish lad would have loved to pay for Celtic.
"I was lucky enough with Leeds, if I was going to leave it would have been for Celtic."
His former Leeds teammate Gordon Strachan bossed the Scottish side towards the end of Kelly's career, and the Irish international quipped: "Perhaps he knew too much about me!"
The defender was also asked the tough question as to who would have won a match between Leeds 1991/92 title winners, and the Champions League semi-finalists a decade later.
"The old pro's, they put some silverware on the table," was Kelly's clear response.
