Everton supporters have reacted positively on Twitter after Arouna Kone continued his comeback from injury by scoring for the club's development side last night.
The striker played for the under-21's when they took on Sunderland at Goodison Park and he played a vital role in the fixture.
Kone scored Everton's first goal of the match and looked sharp throughout, as he helped his side to a 3-2 victory in an entertaining contest.
The Toffees other goals were scored by Bryan Oviedo, who is also returning from injury, and Connor McAleny, but it was Kone's strike which really caught the eye.
The Ivorian blasted home on the half-volley to show that he still possesses his goalscoring instincts, despite not playing for over a year now.
The 31-year-old has still not played for the first-team since picking up a severe injury last campaign, although he has been on the substitutes' bench.
With Roberto Martinez watching from the stands he will be hoping that this performance will have been enough to force him into starting contention in the future, though.
Kone still has not scored for the club since joining from Wigan Athletic in 2013, but most Everton fans believe he can still prove a useful option for the club in the future.
Here is the best reaction from Toffees fans to Kone's performance on social media site Twitter.

We need to see a lot of those guys against Krasnodar. The future is bright. Oh and Kone is alive too. Lots of good news. #EFC— The People's Club (@PeoplesClub1878) December 1, 2014
