Ian Wright shows he can still enjoy a moment of magic from Manchester United's flying Dutchman.
Ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright was delighted to see Manchester United striker Robin van Persie get on the scoresheet this weekend.
The Dutchman netted United's third in their 3-0 victory at home to Hull, ending a run of games without a goal which had seen his very inclusion in the team questioned.
It was Van Persie's fourth goal in 12 starts for the Red Devils so far in 2014/15.
Ian Wright selected Van Persie's striker as his 'moment of the weekend', in his Sun column, writing:
"If ever a striker needed a goal to silence his critics it was Van Persie, and you could see what it meant to him from his over the top celebration.
"That goal and the reception he got will do wonders for his confidence, and I can see him going on a real scoring run now."
To see £24 million man Van Persie get back to form clearly pleased Wright perhaps on a personal level, may be a little surprising he chose it ahead of Danny Welbeck's winner for Arsenal.
There were a number of moments perhaps also worthy of consideration, Frank Lampard's goal for Manchester City against Southampton, Glen Johnson's dramatic winner for Liverpool versus Stoke - or perhaps most worthy, Roberto Soldado ending a goal drought to score his first Premier League goal of the season for Spurs to win the game against Everton.
