Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has been talking about the possibility of bringing new players to the club in January.
But they still have much to be proud of despite their recent setback and the Dutchman has put together a fine squad of players.
Asked if he could add to that group when the transfer window opens next month, the Southampton boss said, “We always think about our team and making it better but I’m pleased with the players we have.
“I don’t talk about names of players. If we need somebody, we will sign somebody.”
It is no surprise the manager is reluctant to discuss possible targets, but he will know just how close his side are to ensuring a European spot next season and some post-Christmas shopping could ensure a top-five finish come May.
Southampton may achieve that regardless, and Koeman will certainly not sign players for the sake of it, but if there is someone available who he believes can improve the side, do not be surprised if he adds to his already impressive transfer record in January.
