Mirco Antenucci has said that his performance against Derby County was his best for Leeds United.
The Italian striker scored both the goals for the Whites in their 2-0 victory over the Rams at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday.
The 30-year-old opened the scoring for Leeds in the 43rd minute and added a second just five minutes into the second period.
Antenucci, who joined Leeds from Ternana in the summer transfer window, has said that it was the best match he has played for the West Yorkshire outfit, while stating that the team are still growing.
“Yes,” he told Radio Leeds when asked if this was his best match. “When I score and we win the match, it’s perfect.”
“We are growing match after match,” added Antenucci. “We need time to build a team. It’s not simple.”
Leeds are currently 15th in the Championship table with 23 points from 19 matches, five points above the relegation zone and eight behind sixth-placed Blackburn Rovers.
