Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks has been singing the praises of Harry Kane.
The 21-year-old striker has been in impressive form for Tottenham so far this season and was the star of the show against Everton on Sunday.
Despite not scoring in the 2-1 win against the Toffees, the youngster’s all-round performance and worth ethic made him the best player on the pitch at White Hart Lane.
Crooks, a former Stoke and Tottenham star, included Kane in the Team of the Week for the BBC and spoke highly of him.
“The Tottenham youngster has been instrumental in a run of games that has produced nine points from three games, and transformed the club's fortunes,” he wrote.
“Spurs were a little fortunate against Aston Villa and Hull City to come away with all the points. There was nothing lucky about their 2-1 win against Everton or the performance from the man at the heart of their victory.
“Harry Kane was simply superb and is proving to be a real find by Tottenham. The most convincing performance by Spurs this season.”
Kane is enjoying a breakthrough season at Tottenham and appears to have established himself in the starting line-up.
In nine Premier League appearances so far this season, the Englishman has scored two goals and created three chances, while having a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 77%.
Kane’s stats in the Europa League are even more impressive. In five matches, he has scored five goals and created six chances.
The Tottenham youngster is still developing and improving, and has to truly prove himself.
But with the run of games Kane is getting and his commitment to the cause, it must be heartening for the Spurs fans to see one of the club’s youth products gel among the expensive signings.
