'Brilliant' - Fjortoft left in awe of Christian Eriksen skill

Christian Eriksen and Roberto Soldado kicking off for Tottenham

Jan Aage Fjortoft believes Christian Eriksen's goal against Everton was an superb piece of intended skill.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen scored a goal in the 2-1 win against Everton, which left European football expert Jan Aage Fjortoft purring over the Dane’s strike.

Eriksen’s effort showcased a superb piece of technique and skill, proving to be vital as it drew Tottenham level after a stunning opening strike from Belgian midfielder Kevin Mirallas.

There will be more glamous and headline grabbing goals over the course of the season but Fjortoft encouraged his followers on Twitter to re-watch the goal when they could because of the technique involved.

The goal was Eriksen’s fifth of the season so far, as he continues his fine form, improving on the inconsistency he showed at times last season.

Eriksen needs to maintain his positive performances over the next few weeks for the club, as a busy Christmas and New Year schedule bears down on Spurs, which could have a big say on where the side end up next year.
