Roberto Soldado scored his first goal in the Premier League this season as Tottenham Hotspur got the better of Everton 2-1 at home on Sunday.

The Toffees took the lead as early as the 15th minute when Kevin Mirallas scored with a wonderful strike.

However, Spurs restored parity just six minutes later through Christian Eriksen, and Roberto Soldado scored what proved to be the winner with a deft finish from close range on the stroke of half time.

Tottenham are now seventh in the Premier League table with 20 points from 13 matches, just two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United. Meanwhile, Everton are currently 10th in the league standings with 17 points.
