Derby County chief operating officer John Vicars has played down the defeat to Leeds United on Saturday.
The Rams headed into the Championship clash at Elland Road as the favourites, but they suffered a 2-0 loss.
Mirco Antenucci opened the scoring for Leeds in the 43rd minute and doubled the lead just five minutes into the second half.
The West Yorkshire outfit were the better team over the 90 minutes, but Vicars seems to believe that the defeat is not going to have a big impact on Derby’s chances of gaining promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Just a bad day at the office not the end of the world top of the league and a home game next Saturday to look forward to onwards and upwards— John Vicars (@johnrvicars) November 29, 2014
Despite the defeat, Derby remain on course for automatic promotion to the English top flight. The Rams are currently at the top of the Championship table with 35 points from 19 matches, just a point clear of second-placed Ipswich Town.
Derby fans were also in defiant mood despite the defeat and took to social networking site Twitter to express their confidence of bouncing back. Below are the best reactions.
