Nemanja Matic says Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard can become best in the world

Chelsea's holding midfielder has had good things to say about Eden Hazard.

There is no doubt that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the best two outfield players in the world. While the brilliance of Manuel Neuer can contend, the fact is nobody ungloved is better than this pair.

But there is certainly a chasing pack. Many would place the likes of Arjen Robben, Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale and Sergio Aguero in that group. Some, may even try to put Eden Hazard among them.

The Belgian has been in terrific form this season, dazzling Chelsea fans and neutrals with his mazy dribbling and consistently high level of performance.

He has even added to the defensive side of his game, something Jose Mourinho made clear was necessary during the last campaign.

For one Chelsea team-mate, Hazard has all the abilities to one day be the best.

Nemanja Matic, who re-joined Chelsea in the winter for £21 million, was asked by Tubes on Soccer AM who would be his favourite Chelsea player to watch as a fan.

His answer was Hazard, adding that he could achieve greatness:

"I think, Eden Hazard. I like his style of football and for me he is probably the best player.

"Yeah [he can become best player in the world]. He is young, I think 23 or 24 and he has already played a few seasons on the top level. If he continues like this then yes, he can be the best."

It is not the first time that Matic has waxed lyrical about Hazard and with good reason, the midfielder is certainly one of Chelsea's greatest talents.

If he can add more goals to his game then who knows? Maybe one day he will be considered the best.
