Leeds United beat Derby County 2-0 at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Italian striker Mirco Antenucci scored both goals to ensure Neil Redfearn's men swiftly got over the disappointment of losing against Blackburn Rovers last weekend despite being in a winning position.
Antenucci scored the opening goal shortly before half time and he wrapped up the victory five minutes after the re-start following fine work from Stephen Warnock and Adryan.
The win proved Redfearn's young side can compete at this level and they will be looking to climb from their current position of 15th in the weeks ahead.
As for Derby, they are now just one point ahead of second-placed Ipswich Town who secured an impressive victory against Charlton Athletic earlier in the day.
