Stephen Warnock has sent a message ahead of Leeds United's match against Derby County.
Leeds United could so easily be heading into this weekend's match against Derby County on a high. But instead a Jordan Rhodes brace for Blackburn Rovers means Neil Redfearn's side face the league leaders with much to prove.
There is no doubt Leeds have a first XI that is a match for any Championship rival but inexperience has cost them before and it may do again.
That is why the Whites' older players have a significant role to play in the coming months, with Stephen Warnock - at 32 - arguably the most important player on the team-sheet.
The left-back has made 16 appearances for Leeds this season and recently spoke of the important role he and Mirco Antenucci play in helping Redfearn's exciting new generation fulfil their potential. And now the former Liverpool man has taken to Twitter to send an emphatic message ahead of the match against the current league leaders.
"Game day," Warnock wrote, "three points a must!!"
That is the level of ambition at Elland Road right now; that the top side in the division is coming to town but a home win is very much on the agenda. It is as it should be, and it will be interesting to see just how this exciting Leeds side react after their disappointing result just seven days earlier.
