Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger have an extensive history of developing young players, but sometimes those prospects have to go out on loan to earn first team football.
That's exactly what Benik Afobe did this season. The 21-year-old has had previously loan spells with Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bolton Wanderers, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday, but with just reserve team football at Arsenal, he headed off to MK Dons for the season.
After scoring twice against Manchester United in the Capital One Cup at the start of the season, Afobe has gone on to score on a regular basis for the League One side.
Today, he had his best day yet, smashing home three goals as Karl Robinson's men defeated Colchester 6-0 at Stadium:mk.
His treble means that his tally now stands at 18 goals in 21 games for MK Dons, further underlying why he's considered to be a hot prospect for Arsenal.
Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere is currently out for three months, but took to Twitter to praise Afobe's goalscoring exploits in Milton Keynes.
