West Ham United forward Mauro Zarate has warned Newcastle United that they are not scared of them, and is determined to help the team finish in the top six of the Premier League this season.
The Hammers have been in impressive form so far this campaign and are currently sixth in the league table with 18 points from 12 matches, just a point behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Despite the fact that West Ham have failed to win a single competitive fixture this month, the London outfit will be confident of picking up all three points from the contest against Newcastle at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday.
Zarate insists that he and his Hammers teammates can get the better of Alan Pardew’s side and wrote on the club’s official website: “Newcastle have won their last six games so we know it will be a very tough match but we don't fear anyone.
“Having beaten Liverpool and Manchester City already, we know that if we play to our best, we can get the three points. After our great start to the season, I think we can finish in the top six or seven teams.”
West Ham should be confident heading into Saturday’s match, but they need to keep in mind Newcastle’s truly stunning form over the past few weeks.
The Magpies have won their last six matches in all competitions and find themselves fifth in the Premier League, a point and a place above West Ham.
Newcastle themselves will be confident of a win in London.
