Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli has said that he and his teammates will need to step up their game against Everton at the weekend.
The North London outfit will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they take on the Toffees at White Hart Lane.
Spurs seem to have recovered some of their form, having won their last two competitive matches, and summer signing Stambouli is looking forward to the encounter against Roberto Martinez’s team.
“It’s another big game,” the 24-year-old told Tottenham’s official website. “They also played in Europe and it’s a tough game against a good side - the kind of game where we have to show our quality.”
Both Tottenham and Everton were in Europa League action on Thursday, and both won.
There is little to choose between the two teams at the moment as neither have played particularly well, while both have struggled for points.
Perhaps the fact that Everton have a settled team with Martinez having worked with most of the players for over a year gives them an advantage, but playing at White Hart Lane will provide Tottenham with an edge.
In many games this season, some of the key Tottenham players have failed to step up their game. Against Everton on Sunday, all of them need to rise to the occasion.
