Leeds United forward Souleymane Doukara has been singing the praises of three of his teammates.
Adryan, Marco Silvestri and Mirco Antenucci are all important members of Neil Redfearn’s team, and summer signing Doukara has explained just what makes them so crucial.
“Adryan is a very big player for the team, so is Marco Silvestri,” the 23-year-old told Leeds’s official website. “They are both big players for the team and I think they can do well for the whole season. Adryan is getting stronger and his confidence is getting better.
“I played against Mirco (Antenucci) last season in Italy and he is a very good striker. He is a big striker for us and I think he’ll score more goals for the team.”
But who is the most important player of the three?
Adryan was the star signing for Leeds, the Brazilian youngster moving to the West Yorkshire outfit on a season-long loan deal from Flamengo in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has struggled with fitness issues, but in recent matches he has shown that he can make the step-up and play an integral role in Leeds’s season.
In six Championship appearances, the youngster has created 10 chances, has a 79% pass accuracy and a 40% pass accuracy.
Marco Silvestri’s howler against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park last weekend has been talked about time and time again, but it cannot be disputed that he has been one of the best players for the team.
The Italian goalkeeper, signed from Chievo in the summer, has made an average of 3.56 saves per game in the Championship.
Yet another player who was signed by Leeds in the summer, the former Ternana star has scored five goals and has created 12 chances in 15 Championship appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 50%.
Leeds are currently 16th in the Championship table with 20 points from 18 matches, just two points above the relegation zone.
The former Premier League outfit will host league leaders Derby County at Elland Road on Saturday.
