Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with some superb players over the past week.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino failed to add in a couple of key squad positions last summer, but the rumour mill is linking the club with some good players ahead of the January transfer window.
Spurs can be competitive financially with most of the players they are being linked with, as Pochettino aims for the players he feels with give the side a better chance of a top four spot over the rest of the campaign.
Here are five of the best players linked with Tottenham Hotspur moves from the past week.
Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich)
The Swiss winger will be allowed to leave Bayern Munich according to president Franz Beckenbauer, with Spurs one of the sides likely to fight for his signature. Spurs have been consistently linked with a move for him over the last few weeks.
Joao Moutinho (Monaco)
Moutinho was first linked with Spurs when Andre Villas-Boas was in charge at White Hart Lane. AVB didn’t get his man, but reports suggest that Mauricio Pochettino is interested in doing what he couldn’t and bringing him to North London.
Ricardo van Rhijn (Ajax)
Van Rhijn is one of the latest players to come out of the famous Ajax youth system. Spurs have been linked with a possible £5 million move although at that price, there would surely be several players sniffing around him and interested in moves.
Andrej Kramaric (HNK Rijeka)
Tottenham are one of the sides linked with a move for the 23-year-old Croatian, who is apparently set on a transfer to Juventus. That may not be possible and Tottenham are one of the clubs thought to be keen on a swoop.
Marcelo Brozovic (Dinamo Zagreb)
Dinamo Zagreb have revealed they are willing to let the 22-year-old leave if the right offer comes in for him during the January transfer window. Reports suggest Spurs will battle against Arsenal to sign Brozovic in January.
