Five of the biggest names linked with moves to Liverpool from the past five days.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers did well to improve his squad over the summer but he’s now under pressure to make winter additions, which will give his side a better chance of retaining their place in the top four for next season.
Liverpool are in decent shape financially and continue to be linked with top quality players on a frequent basis.
Here are five of the best players linked with signing for Liverpool over the past week.
Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich)
Shaqiri will reportedly be allowed to leave Bayern Munich this winter, with Liverpool one of the clubs thought to be interested in him. The Reds are thought to be mulling over a move with Lazar Markovic failing to impress after a summer move from Benfica.
Yohan Cabaye (Paris Saint-Germain)
The former Newcastle United skipper could be set for a PSG exit, less than a year after he joined them. What works in Liverpool’s favour is the fact that the PSG are reportedly willing to let him go for a cut price fee.
Neto is a player linked with coming in and providing competition for Simon Mignolet in goal. However, his agent confirmed through the Italian press earlier this week that the speculation over a Liverpool move was just a rumour and nothing more.
Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)
Casillas is reportedly another of the goalkeeper targets for the club. The situation with regards to his future at Real Madrid seems to change constantly, with the latest reports suggesting he’s ready to move on from the Bernabeu.
Martin Montoya (Barcelona)
Reports suggest that Montoya is so desperate to leave the Nou Camp club that he’ll submit a transfer request to try and force the move through. However, the Reds aren’t short of options on the right hand side of their defence.
