Gabriel Obertan has been voted as Newcastle United’s Player of the Month for October.
The 25-year-old winger was in impressive form for the Magpies last month, and his performances has been duly recognised by the club’s fans.
Obertan was the architect of one of the goals in Newcastle’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City in Wales, and he netted the only goal of the match against Leicester City.
The former Manchester United star, who is currently recovering from a thigh injury, is delighted with the honour and told Newcastle’s official website: "I had a good month and I was happy with the performance of the team.
"It's great for my mental confidence because it's been tough for me, the last two weeks because of surgery and everything. But it's great to have the support of the fans.”
Newcastle are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 19 points from 12 matches, level on points with fourth-placed Manchester United. Alan Pardew’s side will take on West Ham United away from home on Saturday.
