Manchester United’s Luke Shaw could be out until New Year - report

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw’s ankle injury is reportedly more severe than it was initially thought.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw could be out until the New Year, according to a report.

The Telegraph claims that recent scans on the England international’s ankle has revealed that he could be sidelined for an additional six weeks.

Shaw, who suffered the injury against Arsenal in the Premier League clash on Saturday, was already ruled out of all competitive action for two weeks.

This means that the £30 million summer signing from Southampton will miss the busy Christmas programme, which will be a massive blow to United, who have only just regained their place in the top four of the Premier League.

The latest injury news will be a blow to Shaw as well. The 19-year-old struggled with a hamstring problem at the start of the season and was only just beginning to show the kind of form that saw United splash out as much as £30m for him in the summer transfer window.
