The Belgian midfielder described the great moment he made his debut and scored his first goal for the club.
The £27.5 million man has not exactly been the most popular figure at Old Trafford since his move from Everton. He struggled for form and fitness in his debut season. The Belgian found himself in for criticism from the media and fans throughout most of the season.
But in recent weeks he has become a far more popular figure.
He has been in excellent form recently, starring in games against Chelsea, Arsenal and West Brom.
Yesterday he spoke about some of his favourite moments since arriving at Manchester United. Those included his debut and his first goal.
Speaking about his debut for the club last season the lanky midfielder stated:
“A great moment because it was my debut. We won the game. I played 30 minutes; it was a great feeling!”
But it took him quite a while to score his first goal for Manchester United. Fans were growing impatient when he scored the vital equaliser against West Brom last month.
And he described the moment on Instagram:
"This was a great moment – my first goal for Manchester United. We were 1-0 down, so it was important to score a goal. I was happy for the team and for me as well. I waited a lot of time to score. When I shot and I saw it was in, I was very happy.”
His current form has United fans hoping he is finally going to become a vital member of the team. When more moments like the ones he described yesterday might occur.
