Could the German international make the move to Borussia Dortmund this winter?
Lukas Podolski is clearly one Arsenal player hoping for a January move out of the club. The German international has remained universally popular with the fans at Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger has not been convinced with the World Cup winner on a consistent enough basis.
With that in mind he has rarely played for Arsenal in recent times and was overlooked for Yaya Sanogo in last night-s Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.
He is under pressure from German national coach Jogi Low to seek a move and has now confirmed that VfL Wolfsburg are interested. For all intent and purpose it looks like Podolski will be leaving Arsenal in the winter.
Of course many teams will be keen, including those in the Premier League.
However, a move abroad appears more likely. The likes of Inter Milan, Galatasaray and of course Wolfsburg are all said to be looking into a deal - while last night's opponents Dortmund are also apparently interested.
Which may go some way to explaining this photo from after the game.
Podolski went in for a full on hug with Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp last night, perhaps whispering in his ear 'please sign me!'
Time will tell whether Klopp does become his permanent boss, or indeed Podolski ends up elsewhere.
