Spurs morning news: Benjamin Stambouli admits it's not been easy

We bring you the news from Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Tottenham was perfect, says Stambouli

Benjamin Stambouli says that Tottenham Hotspur was the perfect move for him this summer.

The defensive midfielder signed from Montpellier for around £6 million during the previous transfer window.

And, even though he hasn't had much in the way of first-team opportunities yet, Stamboouli insists that things will get better.

"Tottenham was perfect," he told the London Evening Standard. "Maybe it’s not easy every day because I’m not playing a lot and I don’t play in the Premier League, but I play in the Europa League. I can show what I can do, I can progress. It will come."

Eriksen wants top-four

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen believes that the squad can still achieve a top-four finish this season.

Spurs have made a poor start to the campaign, but the Danish attacking midfielder has not given up hope of a good finish.

"The top four is definitely possible," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "When you see the teams who should normally be in the top six nowhere near, you realise everything can change and that the league is so tight."

Shaqiri available

According to London 24, Bayern Munich will be happy to allow Xherdan Shaqiri leave should they receive a good offer in January.

Shaqiri has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane for some time and it seems that it could be a possibility, providing Spurs can afford him.
