A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Thursday evening.
Tottenham are in Europa League action this evening as they take on Partizan Belgrade at White Hart Lane, in the knowledge that a win will take them through to the knock-out stages of the competition.
One player who is in line for a return to action tonight after injury is young midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, having been sidelined for six weeks with an ankle injury, and is hopeful of a positive result against the Serbian outfit this evening.
In an interview with the club's website, he said: "It’s hard to be injured but I’ve used it to make myself stronger, especially stronger mentally. I’m back now and I feel stronger.
"It's one game and anything could happen. We will be fully focused and try to play our game and then we can win this match and go through to the knockout stage."
Another player that isn't taking tonight's game lightly is left-back Ben Davies - who is aware that Partizan could play with an element of freedom and potentially scupper Tottenham's chances of qualifying.
He told the club's website: “We certainly won’t be taking them lightly. We’re at home and will be looking to make it as difficult as we can for them at the Lane, as they did for us in Belgrade.”
Midfielder Benjamin Stamboul has made the bold prediction that Tottenham can win the Premier League in the future and cites his own unexpected success with Montpellier in France as an example that the improbable can happen.
He told the Evening Standard: “We can do it, maybe not now but in the future. We have talent in the squad. We have some players who have all the mental and technical qualities but now we have to think what we really want."
