Arsenal loanee Wellington Silva reacted to the 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund with delight.
Arsenal got their revenge on Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening, with a 2-0 win at The Emirates.
The match will be remembered for Yaya Sanogo scoring his first ever competitive goal for the club, while Alexis Sanchez's strike may live in the memory for a while yet too.
Aaron Ramsey took to Twitter after the game to speak of his joy at Arsenal qualifying for the knockout rounds, and was joined by a Gunners player who is yet to appear for the club.
Brazilian youngster Wellington Silva has been registered to the club since 2011, but been out on loan ever since. He is currently with Spanish La Liga side Almeria, but has qualified for a European passport and will finally link up with Arsenal next summer for pre-season, his agent confirmed last week.
Wellington in making his comment revealed there is one player he already knows well at the club, delighted to see him in action.
Emi Martinez was making only his second Champions League appearance for Arsenal, his first at The Emirates, and picked up a clean sheet against a top quality side. He himself had his own message to send:
Thanks everyone for your support great team effort and a well deserved win and clean sheet #AFC— Damian Emi Martinez (@emimartinezz1) November 27, 2014
Wellington is clearly beginning to focus on Arsenal as he can see the light at the end of a long tunnel, but for the club themselves, they too will feel they have begun to turn a corner.
In big matches of late they have suffered poor results, and this will be a big confidence boosting win, especially after the 2-1 loss to Manchester United at the weekend.
