Arsenal legend Martin Keown has been singing the praises of Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling.
The 19-year-old is one of the most promising young players in Europe and has been one of the best players for Liverpool since last season.
The teenager took three shots, had a 81% pass accuracy, created one chance, put in three crosses and attempted 10 take-ons, leading Keown to hail his quality.
“Raheem Sterling is Liverpool’s brightest shining light,” he wrote in The Daily Mail. “There are not many young English players who can cross with both feet. He drifts past people effortlessly.
“His assist took intelligence: where to run to find space to cross, when to cross and where to cross. And all this happens at pace.”
Sterling is indeed one of the best young players in Europe and probably the best in his age-group in England, but it has to be said that he has not at his best so far this season.
Despite scoring three goals and creating 28 chances in 12 Premier League appearances this campaign, Sterling has not quite hit the form of last season.
But there is still time for the England international to capture his form of last campaign.
