Arsenal supporters have been left frustrated with the news that Jack Wilshere is set for another lengthy layoff from first-team football.
The England international picked up an ankle injury during the Gunners' match against Manchester United last weekend and he underwent surgery on the problem today.
It means that he is likely to be out for three months and it is another blow for an Arsenal side who have seen few things go right for them so far this season.
The side's form in the Premier League has been very poor and their injury problems are stacking up, which isn't helping their chances of turning things around.
Wilshere had been starting to show signs that he was developing into the player that he had promised to be as a youngster, but this is another set-back.
The 22-year-old's progress has rather plateaued off in recent seasons, but he was in his best form for some time at the start of this campaign.
However, this ankle complaint is another to add to his long-list of fitness problems and there is a concern that his struggles to stay off the treatment table could damage his career.
Wilshere has suffered 19 injuries since the start of 2013 and unless he can start proving he can play for a prolonged period in the first-team he is unlikely to reach his full potential.
Here is the best reaction from Arsenal supporters on social media site Twitter to Wilshere's latest injury complaint.
