Victor Moses out for up to eight weeks with thigh injury

Moses had a scan on his thigh yesterday which confirmed the extent of his injury, according to assistant manager Mark Bowen.

Stoke City winger Victor Moses is out for up to eight weeks with a thigh injury according to their assistant manager Mark Bowen.

Moses, who is currently on loan from Chelsea this season, has made an impressive start to life at the Britannia Stadium, scoring one goal and providing five assists ever since he moved to the Potters.

It represents a blow for both him and Stoke as he looks to impress his parent club after a disappointing loan spell at Liverpool last season. He picked up the injury in the 2-1 defeat to Burnley at the weekend and will miss out up until the new year. It means he will miss a trip against his former club Liverpool when Stoke travel to Anfield this weekend.

Bowen told the BBC that the 23-year-old could return to Chelsea for his rehabilitation, saying: "He will be out with anything up to six to eight weeks. It's a big hit. He had a scan yesterday and it wasn't good news. At the moment we're deciding with Chelsea whether to go back and have the rehab there or stay with our team."

Other key games the Nigeria international will miss are against Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton as the busy period during the season also happens to be one of the most difficult for the Potters to deal with.
