QPR latest: Rob Green discusses Stoke goalkeeper, defender leaves on loan

The latest Queens Park Rangers transfer news, views and rumours.

Asmir Begovic

QPR goalkeeper Rob Green has been discussing how he coped when Julio Cesar was the club's no.1 goalkeeper.

Green says he simply kept pushing and bore no grudges against the Brazilian, with his patience being rewarded long term as he is now the R's first choice once again.

And, to illustrate his point, Green cited Stoke City stopper Asmir Begovic as an example that goalkeepers rarely move on from clubs, despite constant speculation.

“I think it’s difficult for keepers to move on: you only need one, maybe two, tops at most clubs. For example, Asmir Begovic has been touted to leave [Stoke City] for as long as I can remember," the shot stopper is quoted as saying by GetWestLondon.

“It’s not the same as needing three top class strikers and maybe even more.”

Begovic has been at Stoke since 2010, although he has been linked over and over with the likes of Liverpool and even Real Madrid.

Max Ehmer

Meanwhile, QPR defender Max Ehmer has joined Gillingham on loan until January 3rd.

The 22-year-old has made one substitute appearance for the West London side and has previously undergone loan spells at Yeovil Town, Preston, Stevenage and Carlisle United.
