Manchester United linked Miralem Pjanic reiterates alliance to AS Roma

Miralem Pjanic

The Bosnian midfielder has made it clear he is 100% committed to AS Roma.

Manchester United, still searching for a replacement for Paul Scholes, were said to be looking into signing Bosnian international Miralem Pjanic last summer. That rumour certainly never dissipated, it repeatedly rumoured that Manchester United were interested in his signing.

Their rivals Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur were also credited with an interest as were the likes of Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Juventus.

However these days Manchester United are said to be far more interested in the signature of Pjanic's Roma team-mate Kevin Strootman. Even if they did want the £40 million rated Pjanic, it was unlikely to happen.

A year ago he signed a new contract at Roma, at the time insisting he had never considered leaving the club.

As time as gone on, everyone seems to have forgotten that Pjanic has recently signed a new deal at the club so the rumour mill has continued.

Now he has made it clear that once again Manchester United or any other potential destinations are unlikely. He has told the press in his Bosnian homeland that he is happy at Roma and is not considering leaving the club:

“The fans can relax. My contract doesn’t expire until 2018 and I am concentrated on Roma.

“There have been many offers for me and I often talk to the Coach about this, but he knows me and right now I am interested only in Roma. I am happy here.”

Strootman it is then for Manchester United.
