Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool will not win the Premier League anytime soon.
The Reds have not win the English top-flight title since 1990 and are unlikely to do so this season.
Brendan Rodgers’s side are currently 12th in the league table with 14 points from 12 matches, five points behind fourth-placed United and 18 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Liverpool came close to winning the league last season, but following the departure of star striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona in the summer transfer window, they are struggling for even a top-four finish this term.
Neville believes that the Merseyside outfit will not win the title anytime soon and told Sky Sports: “I think Liverpool will at some point win a Premier League title one day, but I don’t see them winning in the near future. Chelsea are too strong, City are strong and I think that Manchester United will get stronger.”
Liverpool will take on Stoke City at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.
