Leeds fans have been less than impressed by the forward during his brief time at the club so far.
It's fair to say the 23-year-old's record at Elland Road has not been... well, it's not been much of a record at all.
Since joining the Yorkshire side from Peterborough United in the summer, Ajose has made just four appearances, with only three coming in the Championship.
Ajose has struggled for game time in a squad full of competition, despite the fact that that squad has itself struggled for form so far this season.
So what next for the young forward?
He has joined Crewe Alexandra on an Emergency Loan deal until January 5th, when the hope will be that he can return with some form and game time under his belt, ready to make a genuine impact at Elland Road.
Some supporters, however, and it's fair to say they form some kind of majority at the very least, would prefer Ajose to leave on a permanent deal. Whether Crewe have the resources to be the club that takes him off Leeds' hands for good remains to be seen but one fan even thinks he isn't good enough for them.
It will certainly be hoped that the 23-year-old's move to Crewe will prove a wiser decision than his initial switch to Leeds. But the general mood among supporters seems rather sceptical on Twitter...
Nicky ajose isn't even good enough for Crewe and I genuinely believe that.— david easby (@dave_easby) November 26, 2014
